Life Legacy
LINCOLN - Ray, Donald A., 84 of Lincoln died Thursday June 24 at Hallworth House, Providence. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Saliba) Ray.
Born in Sioux City, Iowa, he was the son of the late John and Lily (Skoog) Ray. He had lived in Lincoln since 1970.
Mr. Ray was a twenty year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After his service to the Navy, he went on to hold various jobs locally before retiring in 1983.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Ray of Warwick; his sisters-in-law, Florence Reed and her husband Lee of Lincoln; Nancy Tajra and her late husband William of Lincoln and the late Jean Kubley; his brothers-in-law, the late Nasim Saliba, and his wife Carrie, and the late Jacob Saliba, and his wife Adela; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was the brother of the late Lucille Refsnes, and her husband Al of Sioux City, Iowa and the late Jack Ray.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Burial, with military honors will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the R.I. Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, R. I. 02907, would be appreciated.
