Therese J. (Pontbriant) Montminy

Lincoln - Therese J. (Pontbriant) Montminy, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her home with her loving daughter, Linda and sweet puppy, Angel Raphael, whom Therese enjoyed and loved, both by her side. She always called herself as, Memere to Angel Raphael. Therese and her loving daughter was blessed, and is so grateful to have had alongside, such a loving, caring Hospice Nurse to help assist in Therese's peaceful passing on Wednesday morning. Therese was the beloved wife of her late loving husband, Louis C. Montminy of 54 years married.

Therese was born and raised in Cumberland, RI. She was the daughter of the late Omer A. and Mary Jane (Elliott) Pontbriant. Therese was very close and raised also by her late Uncle, Robert (Elliott), who was like a second father to her. Therese is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Montminy of Lincoln, RI.

Therese lived most of her life in Cumberland and in Burrillville, RI with her loving husband and daughter. Therese and her husband moved to Lincoln, RI about six years ago with their daughter living close by.

Therese worked in her earlier years as a Job Placement Clerk for the State of Rhode Island Unemployment Office in Pawtucket, RI. Therese worked well over 25 years in the Purchasing Department as a Purchasing Coordinator for A.T. Cross Company in Lincoln, RI before retiring. Therese enjoyed working at A.T. Cross and always said, she had the "best wonderful bosses over the years."

Therese and her loving husband, Louis volunteered and were both Sergeant at Arms at the same time for The American Legion -Post #14 in Cumberland, RI, serving for many years. Therese and her husband loved Square Dancing and enjoyed going out dancing to Old Country Western Music with their friends over the many years. They also loved and enjoyed spending time together playing cards and building jigsaw puzzles. They really enjoyed their life together, going out to eat regularly, especially eating out at Twin Oaks in Cranston, RI, their most favorite dining place. They also enjoyed going out on car rides together. Therese and her husband especially loved traveling and going out on their many trips to Las Vegas, and visiting Arizona, which they loved. They had many other vacation trips like seeing the Grand Ole Opry and visiting Dolllywood in TN, as well as going through the Blue Ridge Mountains along with many other beautiful trips throughout the United States over the years.

Therese was the sister of the late Omer Pontbriant, Jr. and Joseph Pontbriant, and her very close loving late sister, Mary Rose Lejeune, all of Cumberland, RI. Therese leaves behind her loving Nephew and Godchild, Roland Lejeune of Gloucester, RI, who is like a son, and several nephews, one grandson and two great grandsons.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the Saint Theresa Church & Shrine, Nasonville. Burial was in Saint Theresa Cemetery, Nasonville. Visiting hours were respectfully omitted.
