Lincoln - Geraldine "Geri" C. (Casey) Carlin, 84, of Elder Street, died Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted and loving wife of John F. Carlin, with whom she shared fifty-six beautiful years of marriage.
Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late John and Esther M. (Mullener) Casey she had lived in Cumberland, Lincoln, North Providence, and Fort Myers, Florida before moving back to Lincoln seven years ago.
Geri worked for several local companies, most fondly for Hindley Manufacturing in Cumberland. However, her true passion in life was her children and grandchildren. Sleepovers at Grammy's always included countless make believe games, cooking favorite dishes and many laughs. She shared and taught about her love for the outdoors, the beach and the ocean.
Known for her compassionate nature, Geri was always a sounding board and comforting figure for all her children and grandchildren. Finding joy in their company she took advantage of every moment she could and especially loved hosting them in Galilee, Fort Myers Beach during her annual March vacation, and later as often as she could once she became a Fort Myers resident in retirement.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Deborah M. Kent of Cumberland, Kelly A. Carlin of Pawtucket, and Kimberly J. Corsi of Cumberland; two sons, William S. Kent III of Pawtucket and John C. Carlin of Lincoln; one stepdaughter Doreen Carlin-Grande of Cumberland; eleven grandchildren including Senate Majority Leader Ryan Pearson, Darren, Sean, MacKenzie, Steven, Brittney, Casey, Shane, Tyler, Ariana, Michaela; and five great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John Casey, Gladys Casey, Arlene Dureiko and Lorraine Teale.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10:00 am in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Family and friends are invited and may attend visiting hours on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
